Since offense is the core of NFL 17. Let’s start on the defensive side of ball. Here we will talk about the Madden NFL 17 ratings. Here is the other part. Vontaze Burfict, OLB, Cincinnati Bengals (down 4 points to 85 Overall). Burfict, one of the leaders of the Bengals defense, recently returned to the team after a brief suspension. While it’s hard to determine his play with just two under games under his belt, the folks at EA Sports has seen something in Burfict in his first games of the season. Burfict’s Block Shredding rating fell by five, along with his Power and Finesse Moves ratings. At the end of the day however, Burfict is still an 85 rated linebacker so you have to believe that he is worthy on a spot on your team at the end of the day.

Zach Brown, MLB, Buffalo Bills (up 3 points to 84 Overall). The Bills have undergone a resurrection of sorts as they have gone 2-0 since firing their offensive coordinator and their defense has gotten better since that move. Brown has been the beneficiary of the better Buffalo play as Brown has 60 tackles on the season, including nine against the Rams last week. In Rex Ryan’s 3-4 defense, Brown has free reign to roam the field and make plays. If you are thinking about Brown for yourself in Madden keep in mind that even with a high tackling rating, Brown may only work in a 3-4 scheme and nothing more.
