It is criminal that Henry still is not part of Madden 22 99 Club
EA released the latest roster update for Madden 22, which adjusts the ratings of players in the game based on how they perform in real life. The highlight of the Week 6 ratings update was a slight boost to Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry, who was raised from a 97 overall rating to a 98. It’s a slight increase, but one that is well-deserved. And honestly, it’s criminal that Henry still isn’t part of Madden 22’s 99 Club.
Henry – who leads the league in carries (191), rushing yards (869) and rushing touchdowns (10) – could break the 1,000-yard rushing threshold in Week 8 Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts (noon CT, CBS). He’s on pace for a second straight 2,000-yard rushing season, a feat no NFL player has ever accomplished. His tear to start the season has some NFL observers saying he should be in the conversation for MVP, an award which typically goes to quarterbacks.
Henry wasn’t the only back to get a boost in the Madden 22 player ratings update. Based on EA’s report, they also rewarded Leonard Fournette of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Thanks to a two-touchdown performance and “three solid games,” Fournette went up a point to become an 81 overall. EA also mentions he’s done well catching passes from Tom Brady with 16 receptions in three games.
What makes Henry’s climb to the 99 Club so frustrating is how long it has taken him. EA had no problem boosting Tom Brady and Justin Tucker to 99 overall after their record-setting games, although their time in the 99 Club was simply due to a limited time boost to honor their achievements. It seems if EA is to add Henry to the 99 Club, it’s going to be on a permanent basis.
At couple days before Madden NFL updated Henry’s rating, Titans safety Kevin Byard tweeted that his star teammate should be in the ‘99’ club.
